A Dragon's Guide to the Care and Feeding of Humans

Unknown to ordinary San Franciscans, their beautiful city is the home to many magical and fantastic creatures, hidden beneath the parks, among the clouds, and even in plain sight. None of these creatures is more amazing than a cranky, ageless dragon, Miss Drake, who has a weakness for humans... as her pets. But her latest, a bossy 10-year-old girl, Winnie, seems to think the dragon is her pet.

As these two feisty females work out their differences, they find themselves in the face of an extraordinary challenge. Winnie, a talented artist, has taken to drawing every new magical creature she encounters: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Little does she know her sketchbook is enchanted with the ability to bring these sketches to life, setting them loose on the streets of San Francisco. Who knows what will go wrong if ordinary people see sapphire bats flitting around outside of their windows? Or if, even worse, the troublesome pteranodon starts snatching things right out of their hands? The possibilities are endless, and it is up to Winnie and Miss Drake to put an end to the madness. It will take the combination of Winnie's smarts and Miss Drake's magic to get those creatures back where they belong... before it's too late.

As the balance of magic is upset in the City by the Bay, Miss Drake and Winnie team up to restore order in ways wonderful, witty, and wise.
