Hi everyone! I wanted to write a post to introduce myself and answer some frequently asked questions!
My name is Tiu and I run Kinsfolk Shop out of Burlington, Ontario. I do get some help from time to time from my partner in crime, Rahul, but for the most part, this is a one-woman show! KS has been up and running for a little over a year now and I'm so grateful for all of the support and enthusiasm from you all!
I'm in a constant state of learning. This little shop is ever-evolving and I strive to provide the best possible shopping experience, while being as transparent as possible and as helpful as possible.
Onto the FAQs!
Do You Donate to Organizations or Events?
Because this is a small, and mostly solo operation, I'm not always able to donate due to a limited budget. That being said, I do donate when I can and have had the opportunity to support a few different local organizations, including Halton Women's Place, Rabbit Rescue Inc and Northern Reach Rescue Network.
Kinsfolk Shop also contributes to Tree Canada as a Tree Friend. Tree Canada is a national tree planting organization that is dedicated to the planting and nurturing of trees, as well as education and community engagement, research, and reforestation here in Canada. So far, with your help, Kinsfolk Shop is able to help plant 60 trees a year across Canada. I'm hoping to surpass that next year!

Do You Gift Product to Influencers?
I have have given product in the past to social media influencers but have since decided that it isn't in the budget at this time.
Do You Have a Physical Location?
Not yet!! I'm in the process of ironing out all the details and hope to open a location in Burlington, Ontario in the near future. In the mean time, I offer Canada wide shipping and local pick up if you're in the area (send me an email if you want to arrange a pick up email@example.com)
How Can I Get My Products Into Kinsfolk Shop?
If you think you'd be a good fit, please send me an email and introduce yourself and your product! I'm especially interested in sustainably made and Canadian made products.
Do You Ever Have Sales?
Very occasionally! I try and price products competitively from the get go but if you want to be abreast of all the happenings, please follow on Instagram @kinsfolkshop or sign up for the newsletter.
How Do You Pack Your Orders?
Everything is packed in either paper envelopes or reused boxes that I get from local retailers, friends, and vendors. I also reuse packing material that comes from vendors. This includes kraft packing paper, newsprint paper, packing peanuts (corn starch based), shredded paper, and occasionally cellulose padding. It's not always pretty, but it works! Boxes are all sealed with reinforced with kraft paper tape. Receipts are not included in orders, but a digital copy will be emailed to you. I do include a small, square business card. Use it as a bookmark, or pass it along to a friend to spread the word about Kinsfolk Shop ;) More info on shipping here.
Do You Accept Returns?
Yes! Returns are accepted on unused products within 30 days of purchase. You are responsible for paying for return shipping charges. Items that are considered final sale and that cannot be returned include toiletries (toothpaste, deodorant, cosmetics, personal hygiene products, etc.) and anything that is no longer in new, saleable condition.
